Read this first
EatSafe is a planning tool, not a medical device. It checks meals against the
restrictions you enter and flags conflicts, but it cannot guarantee that a food
is safe for you.
Recipes are generated by an AI model and re-checked automatically. Both steps can
miss things: ingredient names vary, manufacturers change formulations, and shared
equipment introduces allergens no recipe lists. Always read the packaging
yourself, and never rely on this app alone for a severe allergy.
Privacy Policy
What we store
Your email address, a hashed version of your password, the dietary restrictions
and preferences you enter, and a record of how many plans and swaps you have
generated. Your restrictions can reveal health information, so treat that field
the way you would any medical note.
What stays on your phone
Signed out, nothing leaves your device at all. Once you have an account, your
recent meal plans, saved meals, weight history and food log are copied to it so
they survive a new phone — that is what the account is for. Your grocery
list and what you have ticked off stay on the device either way, and the
ingredient safety check always runs on your phone.
Who else sees it
To build a plan we send your restrictions and preferences to Anthropic's API,
which generates the meals. We do not send your email address or any other
account detail with it. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for
advertising.
Why we count usage
Every plan costs us money to generate, so we record the cost of each request
against your account to enforce your allowance. That record contains no recipe
or meal content.
Where food data comes from
Barcode and nutrition lookups use two public databases:
FoodData Central, published by the United
States Department of Agriculture, and
Open Food Facts, a community
database licensed under the
Open Database License.
Product records belong to those projects, not to us, and neither of them vouches
for EatSafe.
Deleting your data
Deleting your account from Settings permanently removes your account,
restrictions and usage history from our servers. Plans saved on your phone are
removed when you delete the app.
Terms of Service
What EatSafe is
EatSafe builds meal plans that work around the dietary restrictions you enter,
and checks every ingredient it suggests against those restrictions. It is a
planning tool. It is not a medical service, a dietitian, or an allergy test, and
it cannot see the label on the food in your kitchen.
You are responsible for what you eat
Recipes are generated by an AI model and re-checked automatically. Both steps
can miss things. Ingredient names vary, manufacturers change formulations, and
shared equipment can introduce allergens that no recipe lists. Always read
packaging yourself, and never rely on this app alone for a severe allergy.
Your account
You need an account to generate plans. Keep your password to yourself; you are
responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account at any
time from Settings, which permanently removes your restrictions and usage
history.
Subscriptions
The 3-month plan starts with a 14-day free trial, once per Apple Account. The
monthly and yearly plans have no trial. Pro is an auto-renewing subscription
billed through the App Store. Cancel before the trial ends and you are not
charged. It renews until cancelled, and you cancel it in your App Store settings
rather than in this app. Plans and swaps are limited per month; the current
limits are shown on your profile.
Fair use
Generating a plan costs us money on every request, so accounts are limited to
the allowance shown on your profile. Do not create multiple accounts to work
around those limits, or use the app in a way that interferes with it working for
anyone else.
Changes
We may update these terms as the app changes. If we make a significant change we
will say so in the app before it takes effect.
Support
Why is a meal flagged?
After a plan comes back, EatSafe re-scans every ingredient on your device against
your restrictions. A flag means one of those ingredients matched something you
avoid. Open the meal to see exactly which word triggered it, then swap the meal
or adjust the recipe yourself.
Why do I need an account?
An account is where your restrictions, saved meals and progress are kept, so they
survive a new phone. It is not what unlocks planning — that is Pro. Signed out
you still get the three-day sample, barcode scanning, food search, the grocery
list and the safety scan.
What does "how strict" change?
Severity changes how the plan is written and how loudly a match is flagged.
Anything marked as an allergy or severe is treated as a hard constraint and gets
cross-contamination warnings; preferences are avoided where practical.
I ran out of plans
A free account does not include generated weeks — what is free is the three-day
sample, built on your device from meals that ship with the app. Pro plans full
weeks and starts with 14 days free on the 3-month plan; the monthly numbers are
on your profile.
Something looks wrong
If a meal is flagged that should be safe, or worse, one is not flagged that
should be, please tell us. Getting the scanner right matters more to us than any
other part of the app.
